Our Story:

February 2018 - Joe claims to have first seen and met Delaney. It was at a Pop up brunch party in Santa Monica at 31 Ten. Delaney was with Joe/Delaney’s mutual friend Courtney Pierre (now Courtney Coit). Joe assumed she was already dating someone else, so that moment passed them by. Delaney remembers meeting Joe for the first time on another night…

October 2018 – This is when Delaney’s claims to have first met Joe. Again, through Courtney, Delaney and Joe were invited to Courtney’s birthday party. It was a wig-themed party at the bowling alley. Delaney was wearing a black wig, and Joe was in dreadlocks. Delaney remembers Joe from this party, but Joe doesn’t really remember Delaney. But, there is a picture of them together to prove it. It was around this time that Joe and Delaney first started following each other on social media.

In-between: Delaney and Joe both dated other people that thankfully did not pan out. They each learned what they did and didn’t want in a lifelong partner. (NOTE: Delaney decided to unfollow Joe as they never saw or ran into each other.)

April 2022 – Delaney, hungover on a Sunday morning, is scrolling through Hinge (dating app) and Joe’s profile pops up! It takes Delaney a while to decide on her next move, as she was weighing the pros and cons of whether Joe would like her back or not. She closes her eyes, and hits the heart button! Within minutes, Joe had already hearted her back. A date was schedule for that next week.

May 6th, 2022 – Delaney and Joe’s first date was at Bacari Playa Del Rey. What was actually a 3-hour date flew by too fast. Delaney notes Joe came prepared with lots of questions and they talked for hours. Joe notes that Delaney was very easy for him to talk to (which is very important for shy Joe). They had uncovered that they both had ordered the same exact car. Tesla, Model Y, White, Black Rims.

September 24th, 2022 – This is the date Joe claims Delaney asked him to be her boyfriend. Joe invited Delaney to the annual golf/poker weekend in Las Vegas. Dinner was at Carbone the first night, and after a few drinks Delaney gained enough liquid courage to say “Well you haven’t officially asked me to be your girlfriend.” Joe responded, “I thought you already were.” The couple was now official.

June 2023 – Joe planned a weekend trip to Santa Barbara to celebrate Delaney’s birthday. Delaney had been living alone after her roommate of 6 years, Sasha, had moved out. Despite trying to find a roommate, it became increasingly obvious that now would be the time for Joe and Delaney to take that jump and move in together in Manhattan Beach. That same weekend, a promotion position for Delaney opened up in the South Bay. Fate? They think so.

July 2023 – Joe knew within 1 week of living with Delaney that they were going to work for the long haul. Everything in their relationship got better when they moved in together. Delaney cooks for Joe very often. Joe cleans the dishes and does the laundry. They support each other perfectly.

January 2024 – Joe starts planning the proposal with the help of Sasha. Sasha helped Joe find the ring Delaney loved and made sure everyone was in town for the surprise engagement party in April. To make the surprise even better, Joe would tell Delaney that they could start talking about engagement at the end of the year, or even the year after that.

April 27th, 2024 – Joe was able to surprise Delaney on the beach next to Manhattan Beach Pier with the engagement ring. Both of their families watched from the pier. Dinner at Il Fornaio was another surprise with 40 people waiting to celebrate Delaney and Joe’s engagement.

The wedding planning has gone very smoothly and Delaney and Joe are so excited for their wedding weekend!
